This is NOT a moving company, but a broker. They did NOT explain this to me, and even when I asked if the actual movers were company employees they told me they were. Which, I suppose could be construed as technically true since they "hired" them although they don't pay them at all. The way they work is that they over quote you, then take a percentage up front. The amount owed after the move goes directly to the actual movers. So it works in their best interest to over quote you so that the beginning amount is larger, more profit for them. When they were telling me that they wanted to over quote me by several thousand pounds I asked repeatedly if this would mean that I would only pay the actual amount weighed and was assured that indeed I would only pay the amount owed for the actual weight of the move. Why would I accept the over quote up front you may ask? The reason is simple. The first percentage paid can be paid by credit card. The amount owed after the move must be paid in cash, money order or, I was originally told, cashier's check. As I was moving to a new state and did not have access to a bank at my new address it was to my advantage to pay as much as I could ahead of time.

In the end the movers were grumpy, came a day later than I had originally scheduled, and pressured me to show up at the new place, several states away (with 3 children, two cats and not a second of time to clean my old apartment as planned) the next day. They were scheduled to arrive 3 days after the pick up. Then that was changed to 2 days after pick up. In the end they began calling me the day after pick up and requesting that I hurry to the destination as soon as possible.

Further, this is a THREE person company. This is what the movers told me. Strangely I spoke with 5 different people there.

They are scam artists and NOT MOVERS.

They are cheap, but not the cheapest, and while Dina, or whatever her name is, was very polite in the beginning, she was conveniently unavailable starting a few days before my move.
I will never use this company again and will definitely, in the future, go with a more well known company and an actual moving company rather than a broker.

Worst company I have ever dealt with, all they do is sub-contract work out to small company movers. Tjey are just a middle man making a profit.

WOW!!!! 200 agents, can you please list a few of the agents that are 5 star rated? 200 agetns (whatever that means) is ALOT of agents. And where are they 5 star rated? Are they ALL members of the Better Business Bureau and if so, I and I am sure all of us consumers would love to see who they are. Please submit a list of agents along with their respective phone and contact numbers so we can research them and make sure they truly are agents of Verizon.

I have read the clients complaint and would like to address some of the aligationts.Verizon van lines has over 200 agent nation wide each agent operates under our tariff, every agent has been in the industry a minimum of 3 years and is a 5 star rated company.

Mrs. Ackley's move was scheduled with a 2 day pick up window as is every interstate move we perform and our agent picked up Mrs. Ackley with in that agreed window.

All interstate moves are based on weight surmised by an items list supplied by the client, The more weight you have the less per pound your over all cost is; the reason there is a cap on how much you can go under is simple being that clients could easily book moves with outrageously inflated weights to reap the volume discount and the moving company would be routing empty trucks across the country.

This was explained to the client as we do with every client and until now we have had no issues with client’s not understanding this term in the past.

Mrs. Ackley's move actually came in under the contracted weight and her over all cost was less nearly 10% of the entire move.

Mrs. Ackley move was scheduled for a next day delivery as the distance between her new and old residence was around 400 miles and as out lined in her contract; being she could not take delivery the next day we compensated our carrier for fuel food and lodging for an additional day at no cost.

I apologize if this sounds like a bad moving experience; we believe most clients would want their move to cost less then quoted have no damages and a quick delivery.

Verizon Van Lines strives for client satisfaction and this is evident by our over all ratings. I am sorry Mrs. Ackley did not understand these terms agreed to and wish her well in her new home.
